Born on 24 August 1948 at Karad, Dist. Satara, Maharashtra, did his M.E. (Electronics & Telecommunications), in February 1973, from College of Engineering Pune, Maharashtra. Joined Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), Ahmedabad, (A Unit of Dept. of Space, GOI) in May 1973 and worked on a number of scientific and technical projects in the fields of Space & Rocket payloads, Space Communication, Astronomy, Computers and Computer Networking, Neural Networks and Artificial Intelligence etc. Landmark achievements in PRL: Cosmic Ray Detector ANURADHA in Spacelab III on NASA's Space Shuttle Challenger in 1985, High Energy X-ray Detector on Chandrayaan-1 in 2008, Engineer-in-Charge, Astronomy Telescope Observatory, Mt Abu, Rajasthan, in 1994-2004 and Spacenet Coordinator in 2004-08. Retired from PRL in August 2008. Worked as a Guest Faculty Member for UN sponsored School for Asia and Pacific, held at PRL every two years, to deliver a course on ''Elements of Space Technology''. Fond of traveling, with family and friends, visited many tourist places in India from North to South. Recently went to Thailand and Cambodia to visit famous Angkor Wat temples. Joined Rotary Club of Ahmedabad Greater under Rotary International District 3051 in July 2011 and handling the Club's Quarterly Newsletter as Editor-in-charge. Was the President of the Rotary Club Ahmedabad Greater for the year 2016-17. Published a story book, My Two Worlds (Rawat Media Private Limited, Ahmedabad), in August 2013. Presently settled in Ahmedabad, with wife Asha.
