The author, who belongs to Delhi, prefers to be called 'eMKay' (short for Mohanjeet Kukreja), is a Pharma professional, holding a masters degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences (M. Pharm) from University of Delhi. Apart from photography, writing has always been his passion. He loves to write poetry and short stories about various aspects and facets of life. eMKay had started writing long back. Even when he was still in school, in class IX, his write-ups had started appearing in newspapers and magazines. Although he cannot read or write Urdu as such, his understanding of the words used in Urdu poetry is truly remarkable. Using a very beautiful blend of Hindi and Urdu, he has written on almost every possible theme, be it romance, life philosophy, or tragedy. Blessed with a deep, soothing voice, and a very impressive enunciation, the author also keeps sharing the audio rendition of his own creations, as well as, those from other renowned poets. "Abhivyakti…Ek Kavya Sankalan", a wonderful collection of his poetry, has already been published. Mangadhant, however, is a maiden collection of his short stories. If you like reading short Hindi stories, you are really going to enjoy Mohanjeet’s style and crisp, powerful narrative. His maturity and mastery is all the more evident in some of the short short-stories (laghukatha) that the author has incorporated in the present book.
